Ursuline inducted 12 members into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 27 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The Hall of Fame traces its beginning to 1975 when Principal Tom Carey approached Bob Miller ’39 with the idea of starting an All-Sports Hall of Fame. The first athletes were inducted on November 29, 1975 at the Booster Club Thanksgiving Dance at Idora Park. Since that time, over 300 alumni and friends of Ursuline High School have been inducted. The 2017 Induction Class includes: Alex Allen ’05 (football), John DePiore ’84 (baseball), Lennie Dukes ’00 (track & field), Patricia Fleming (honorary-contributions), Tyra Grant ’06 (basketball), Jerry Hanlon (honorary – coaching), Mike King ’93 (wrestling), Amy Vechiarelli Mancini ’85 (golf), Jim Pepperney ’59 (tennis), John Prologo ’91 (football), Doug Rogers ’83 (football), and Rick Varley ’59 (tennis).
