Class of 2023 - Ursuline High School

Ursuline High School will graduate the Class of 2023 at its 115 th Annual
Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 28 at 4:00 PM at Stambaugh Auditorium.
The speaker will be Daniel Morrison, Ursuline Class of 1986.
Dan is a graduate of Saint Christine School. While at Ursuline, he played
football, ran track and received the distinguished title of “Mr. Ursuline.” In 1986, Dan
attended John Carroll University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science
and Spanish (Magna Cum Laude) from JCU in 1990.
During his junior year at JCU, Dan was recruited by the Central Intelligence
Agency (CIA) to work for the CIA’s Directorate of Operations. Upon graduating from
JCU, Dan moved to Northern Virginia where he was trained as a case officer to spot,
assess, develop, recruit and handle foreign contacts to spy on behalf of the United States
and provide intelligence based on their access within their governments.
In 1995, Dan made a career change and for the next 23 years, Dan worked as a
Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Dan served in a number of roles
in the FBI as a case agent, SWAT operator, bomb technician, Hazmat Coordinator, Legal
Attaché and Supervisory Special Agent.  Through these assignments he gained in depth,
real-world expertise in the fields of counterintelligence (CI), counterterrorism (CT)
investigations and crisis management. Throughout his career, Dan has held planning and
leadership roles at numerous U.S. and international Special Events such as National
Football League Super Bowls, Olympics, G-20 Summits, and U.S. political conventions.
In 2005, the FBI Director appointed Dan to be a liaison in the U.S. Embassy in London,
England.   Dan was the recipient of the United States National Intelligence Exceptional
Achievement medal for his actions in London.  In 2012, he returned to London as an on-
scene commander and the FBI liaison for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
In 2018, Dan retired from the FBI and decided to start a security services and
consulting company called Odin Enterprises. Since starting Odin Enterprises, Dan and
his team have conducted extensive international law enforcement training in Asia, the
Middle East and Central America.
Dan lives in Johns Creek, Georgia, where he is an active member of the St. Brigid
Catholic Church. He is a member of the St Vincent DePaul Society and a Habitat for
Humanity worker. He has three daughters and a son ~ all college graduates who now live

and work in New York City, Ottawa, Canada and Atlanta. He is an avid tennis player,
cyclist and loves to travel.
Academic Excellence Awards will be presented to the top graduates of the
Ursuline Class of 2023. Joseph Criscione is the Valedictorian with a grade point
average of 4.64 on a 4.0 scale. Marissa Clegg and Aidan Tomhave will be honored as
the Co-Salutatorians with grade point averages of 4.62 on a 4.0 scale.
Joseph Criscione is the son of Joseph and Christine Britt Criscione (U ’91). Joey
is a graduate of Saint Rose Church and a member of the parish where he serves as a
Eucharistic Minister and Altar Server. He is a member of the Ursuline National Honor
Society, French Club, Merici Med Prep Program, Engineering Club, Quiz Bowl Team,
Interact Club, Liturgy Committee, Eucharistic Minister, Students of Stewardship, Student
Ambassadors and Student Council. He served as 9 th and 10 th grade class treasurer and as
a member of the Student Council Executive Board in 11 th and 12 th grades. He was the
Ursuline Girls Basketball videographer. Joey was also an AP Scholar with Honor and
earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. His involvement outside of Ursuline
includes Saint Vincent de Paul and the Ulster Project. Joey will attend John Carroll
University in the Honors and Leadership Program to pursue a major in Pre-
Med/Biochemistry. He hopes to become a Physician.
Marissa Clegg is the daughter of Keith and Lisa Clegg. Marissa attended Jackson
Milton Local Schools and is a member of Saint Joseph Parish (Austintown). She is a
two-year letter winner for the Cheer Squad, a member of Students of Stewardship,
Student Ambassadors, Spanish Club, Ski Club, National Honor Society and Link Crew.
Marissa will attend Honors College at The Ohio State University and major in
Biology/Pre-Med.
Aidan Tomhave is the daughter of Hillary Fuhrman and Alan Tomhave. She is a
graduate of The Montessori School of the Mahoning Valley. Aidan is a member of the
Soccer Team, Quiz Bowl Team, National Honor Society, El Fuego (musical group), and
French Club. Aidan is also on the Leadership Board of the Speech and Debate Team and
Theater Program where she had directed a One-Act Play. She will attend George Mason
University with an intended major of Government and Economics.
The Awards Assembly will take place on Thursday, May 25 at 8:00 AM in the
school gymnasium. Members of the Class of 2023 will be formally presented to the
Principal, faculty and guests at this time.
The Baccalaureate Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, May 26 at 6:20 PM at
the Cathedral Parish of Saint Columba. Bishop David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown,
will be the presider. The homilist is President Rev. Richard Murphy (’72), He will be
joined by Rev. Kevin Peters (U ’78), Chaplain of Ursuline, and by pastors of area
Catholic parishes.

Following the Baccalaureate Liturgy, the graduates will be guests of the faculty
and administration at the annual Senior Dinner Dance to be held at Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Social Hall (Youngstown) from 8:00 PM until 10:30 PM.
