Ursuline High School will graduate the Class of 2019 at its 111th Annual Commencement Exercises at Stambaugh Auditorium on Sunday, May 26, at 4:00 P.M. The speaker is Dr. James T. Kerrigan. Dr. Kerrigan, an orthopaedic surgeon, graduated from Ursuline High School in 1973. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Notre Dame and his MD from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. Dr. Kerrigan is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Suregons and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Ohio Orthopaedic Society.
Academic Excellence Awards will be presented to the top graduates of the Ursuline Class of 2019. Alexander Stoneman is the Valedictorian with a grade point average of 4.69 on a 4.0 scale. Caroline Aey and Joel Kreuzwieser will be honored as the Co-Salutatorians with grade point averages of 4.55 on a 4.0 scale.
Alex Stoneman is the son of David and Denise Stoneman. He is graduate of Saint Charles School and a member of the parish. He will attend Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee with a double major in Biomedical and Chemical Engineering.
Caroline Aey is the daughter of John and Susan Aey. She attended Poland Middle School and is a member of the Old North Church. Caroline will attend Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Joel Kreuzwieser is the son of Kirk and Kit Kreuzwieser. He is a graduate of Saint Christine School and a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church. Joel will attend Catholic University of America and study Engineering and Piano Performance.
The Baccalaureate Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Columba Cathedral on Friday, May 24th at 6:30 PM. Rev. Richard Murphy, President of Ursuline, was the celebrant joined by pastors of area Catholic parishes. Homilist will be Rev. Edward Stafford (’72), the Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Mantua, Ohio and a member of the Ursuline Board of Directors.
